Trying out different patterns.
Made a couple new bags, and I'm digging this style.
It is a knot bag, but with a hobo style bottom, instead of my round bottom bags.
Then made a flat bottom zip pouch which was too cute, and a super large tote.
Finally a "last day of school" dress using some left overs.
Perfect chance to test an embroidery stitch on the sleeves and hem.

Carefree sewing.
Yesterday was a weird day. All my the kids were home, (on a Wednesday mind you) for a staff development day. I was spur of the morning, making corned beef and cabbage, and going to do regular daily chore stuff.
I don't mind having kids home, and actually prefer them to be here. Most times when they're home though, they interrupt my flow with things like, "feed me", "fix this", "they're annoying me". Yesterday, there was none of that. I had a lot of quiet time.
So for the first time in a long time, I was able to work on whatever I wanted. No deadline, no restocking, no nothing. It was pretty cool. I thought I should piece some scraps together because my fabric piles are pretty much out of control. But then I found this cherry print, and then these polka dot prints, and I glanced over at my curtain of zippers and spied all my red zips, and knew this wristlet had to happen!
It is so friggin' cute!!
I mean there are even polka dots on the inside!
It felt so good to sew something because ~I~ wanted too.

Bags-bags, March!!
A while ago a cute little sneak left a note on my sewing table with design notes about a new bag.
Does she need a new bag?? No.
How could I say no when it's Hello Kitty and skeletons??
She usually will ask for a bag when I'm busy with other sewing things. And I was really busy!!
My Cure Diabetes bags sold out, and I was currently working on restocking.
zip pouch
boxed pouch
So I ordered more fabric, made new bags.
I cannot tell you how happy this made me!!
It filled me with a sense of pride, and love, knowing that this message is being spread for ourselves, our children, our family, our loved ones, and neighbors.

Finally some sewing!!
I finally was able to sit down and sew the other day.
It's only December 2, and I feel it's going to be a crazy-crazy month.
I was trying to work out a more efficient way of doing these little project pouches, and I think I finally got it!!
Now listed in the shop.

Quick Bag (nablopomo)
I wanted to make a clear bag to bring to work.
One that I didn't really care much about for my water, lunch, etc.
I had enough scrap vinyl, saved from comforter and sheet packaging.
Even from the packaging of a car seat!
So I randomly found some fabric, and started putting the bag together.
I traced the pattern to the vinyl with a sharpie marker. Even the dart.
(Later, I will kick myself in the butt for doing that.)
See that? Purple sharpie?
Anyway, I used the outside fabric in double layers so that you would see the back of the fabric
from the inside.
How cute is that for my lunch? I had to bias trim all the edges, and I loved using the red fabric.
Makes it kind of nautical, and cheery, and very me.
Inside seams are serged.
This is the back, so when I walk around I can put this to the outside and no one sees my
stuff:
Fun right?

Monster High
My littlest is going to a birthday party where the recipient loves Monster High. I've never
heard of it, but if there's "monster" in the title, I'm going to assume skulls are
going to be a preferred theme.
Here's what I came up with:
Carrying case. Snap at the top of the handles to keep them together.
There is a clear vinyl pocket with a snap for clothes or whatever, and a removable
zippered pouch, with a clear vinyl window for accessories. I'm pretty sure the size can fit
at least 3 dolls length wise.
Don't forget my Winter Promo is still going on.
And seriously, this winter I've definitely got the blues.
