August 2015

What a bunch of lazy summer days!

I've had an itch to sew, so I made a dress using left overs:

Summer means less time for myself, and more times hanging out w/ littlies.

Who, why, how, show me.

It can get overwhelming teaching a skill when you're not in the mood,

or in the middle of your own project, but I really try to fit in that quality time and kindle

their interest.

(She made a little pillow and blanket for her doll.)

I also had an order for a box pouch, and I had forgotten how fun they were to make!

More of these will definitely be added to my September sewing list.

  1. Wow - how old is your little girl, there? She looks so tiny at that sewing machine. I'm impressed. I wish I had taken time to do this with my boys. Instead I tended to back-burner my creative pursuits and they rarely saw that side of me. Oh, we did plenty of creative stuff - it just wasn't stuff that gave them a glimpse into this side of me (the sewer, the crocheter, the crafter... While my sons are too old to directly benefit, their old mom is now making up for lost time for her own benefit. Good for you. Good for your children! :^)

    1. She's 7, and as much as I like being alone and crafting, I know that I'm helping them find their own outlet, whatever that may be. Thank You!

    1. Thank you. It's her dress of choice right now. Maybe because it's bed linen, so it's super soft and comfy.

  3. I think that is great how you are teaching your daughter. It is stuff she will never forget, the skill or the special time together. I did the same with my daughter when she was little and now there are things she can teach me.
